Apprenticeships are for young people aged 16-24 who have thought about their future career and have decided on the type of work they want to do. Programmes last for 1 - 4 years depending on the occupational area and the level of programme.
You will be working for an employer for 4 days per week and attend college on a day release basis where you will be working towards completing your Technical Certificate and Key Skills. At your workplace you will be collecting evidence and being observed by your Assessor, who will assess your competence against national standards of the NVQ.
Apprenticeship/Advanced Apprenticeship programmes consist of: NVQ Level 2/3 Technical Certificate Level 2/3 Key Skills in Communication, Application of Number and for some programmes IT.
Programme-Led Apprenticeships
On some programmes we are able to offer Programme-Led Apprenticeships. You
will be offered a work placement whilst attending college to complete your
programme.
The aim is to move you into employment within 6 months of you starting the programme.
Whilst on this programme you will be in receipt of an EMA or Training
Allowance.
